Emerging from Tibet and branching from Sun Koshi in the way, Bhotekoshi is an ideal trip for those seeking for short but thrilling whitewater voyage with the rafting getting the steeper arousing class 4 to 5 rapids.
The location is unparalleled in its scenic beauty, offering rafters numerous photographic moments and opportunities to visit the unexplored. Having said that, there is very little time to look at the mountains and the scenery once you are on the river and the whitewater experience begins. It has been marked as the steepest river that is rafted in Nepal, with continuous rapid action and water pounding demanding hard work and commitment from the rafters.
Getting to the rafting location, ‘Baseri’ is pretty easy with the Araniko highway residing along the river that can get you from the capital within 4-5 hours. Along the way, you will get to glimpse the river with all its mighty power and the mountains guiding the pathway. Once you get there, you will be greeted with friendly local faces and keen rafters and provided with breakfast (depending upon the package). A small orientation on the technicalities is provided by trained professionals and raft guides.
Most of the rafting packages come in a two-day trip which is highly recommended as it allows you to familiarize with the place, the atmosphere and especially the nighttime experience, with people, gathered around, barbecuing, it is an experience of a lifetime.
