The 3-day Pokhara – Dhampus Hiking is among the best short hiking routes around the picturesque city of Pokhara. Dhampus is a traditional village situated North of the Pokhara valley populated mainly by people belonging to the Gurung community. The village is particularly famous for the magnificent view of Mt. Machapuchare (Fishtail Mountain) that it offers. The trip commences with a drive towards the village of Kande, which is located on the outskirts of Pokhara. Upon reaching Kande the on-foot hiking starts. Usually, Dhampus can be reached in one day from Kande. The hike progresses towards Sarangkot from Dhampus which is renowned for offering amazing view of the sunrise with the Himalays at the backdrop. Be sure to make your camera battery full so that you can capture the amazing views that you can capture throughout this trip.

Pokhara-Dhampus is the perfect short trip around the city of lakes with an up-close view of Machhapuchare and other magnificent mountains. The day begins with a short drive to Kande, on the outskirts of Pokhara. From here the hike to Dhampus starts. The Dhampus village is about 3 hrs away from Kande. En-route, we pass through lush green forests, terraced fields, and beautiful hamlets.
The trek to Sarangkot moves through Naundanda. We hike through the amazing landscapes along the paddy fields, small settlements, magnificent hills to reach Sarangkot. As one of the most popular viewpoint around Pokhara, Sarangkot offers breathtaking views of the Himalayan ranges like Annapurna (8,091m), Manaslu (8,165m), Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Machhapuchhre (6,993m), Ganesh Himal (7,446m) and other significant peaks.
The trek towards Pokhara is mostly downhills. Around 2 hrs of the walk from Sarangkot takes us to the majestic city of Pokhara.
